Download World Book Windows Gadget

Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 support Desktop Gadgets, which are small programs that stay on the Windows desktop. This Gadget will let users search World Book Online from their desktop.

Right-click the download icon and save the Desktop Gadget file to your computer.

Once the file is downloaded, open it and tell Windows you wish to install it.

Once installed on your desktop, you may choose to configure the gadget for your environment. Hover the mouse over the gadget and click the wrench icon on the right.

• Account ID: World Book recommends putting your account ID here. Some configurations may require this, but it is optional for many accounts.
• Login Name: if you use a login ID and password, put the login name here.
• Password: if you use a login ID and password, put the password here.
• Proxy Domain: if you use a proxy server, enter the domain that you are using to replace https://www.worldbookonline.com
• Default Product: The gadget will default to World Book Student. If you want another World Book product to which you subscribe to be the target product, choose it from the menu.
